The Carolina Hurricanes will be looking to keep their undefeated start to the season rolling as the Philadelphia Flyers come to town. The Hurricanes began their season with a shaky 6-3 victory over the New Jersey Devils that included 2 garbage-time goals. I expect they will clean up their defensive play and get back to the tight style of game that head coach Rod Brind’amour typically has them playing. The Hurricanes’ forward group consists of four very solid lines, and not many teams in the league can compete with their depth. They should be poised for another deep playoff run. Last season they were in the top 10 in the NHL in goals per game and goals against per game; they are very well-rounded. Carolina has this rebuilding Philadelphia team out-matched in most aspects of the game.

The Flyers struggled to produce just 20 shots on goal in their first outing of the season against the defending Stanley Cup champs. They have a few talented players in their lineup, but it probably won’t be enough to compete with the tight checking veteran group at the other end of the rink. The Hurricanes are dominant on home ice and I think they will get it done on Saturday. Give me the ‘Canes on the 3-way money line.
