Penguins vs Rangers Pickswise Expert Predictions
The New York Rangers will be kicking off their 2025-2026 campaign on Tuesday night, as they host the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Rangers will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing previous season that saw them miss the playoffs. With not much turnover on its roster, New York will look to newly appointed captain J.T. Miller to lead it in the right direction. The Rangers will also be looking for better seasons from Mika Zibanejad and defenseman Adam Fox. They still one of the best goalies in the league with Igor Shesterkin, and he is always reliable. Madison Square Garden is a tough building for opponents to play in, and I expect it to be rocking on Tuesday for the home opener.
The Penguins finished second-to-last in the Metropolitan Division last season, and the expectations for this year are not much better. They will only remain somewhat competitive because Sidney Crosby is on the roster, but outside of him they are lacking offensive depth. The Rangers should be able to take advantage of the inferior Penguins and get their season off to a good start. I expect the Rangers to be leading this game late into the third period and will have a chance to score an empty-net if needed. Give me New York to prevail by 2 or more.
Penguins vs Rangers prediction: New York -1.5 (+120) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
