Seattle Kraken vs Washington Capitals Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 10/21/25

The Seattle Kraken make the fifth stop on a six-game road trip, stopping in the nation’s capital. Seattle is playing in a back-to-back situation, too, after getting dusted 5-2 in Philadelphia on Monday night behind Joey Daccord. As such, backup veteran Philipp Grubauer is expected to get the nod. He lost 4-3 in a shootout at Ottawa Thursday in his first start of the season. It’s the first back-to-back for the Kraken. While there is concern with Grubauer possibly giving up plenty of goals, with the long road trip, and the no rest situation, expect the Seattle legs to be rather heavy and sluggish in D.C.

The Capitals suffered a 4-3 loss to the Vancouver Canucks Sunday, halting a four-game win streak. Backup goalie Charlie Lindgren was in between the pipes for that one, so it’s expected Logan Thompson will be good to go Tuesday for the Caps. He has won three straight starts, with the Capitals outscoring the opposition 12-5 in those outings. The Under is 2-1-1 in four home games for Washington this season, and it has allowed two or fewer goals in four of the past five games overall. Bank on the Under, and don’t look back.
