Golden Knights vs Mammoth Pickswise Expert Predictions

Money Line Pick
UTA Mammoth Win(-110)

The Vegas Golden Knights aren’t used to losing under interim head coach John Tortorella. Tortorella led Vegas to a 7-0-1 record over its final 8 regular season games, and picked up a 4-2 win in Game 1 of this series. But the Mammoth responded with a 3-2 win on the road in Game 2 to even up the series before it shifts to Salt Lake City for Game 3 on Friday night. It was a gritty win for Utah, who held Vegas to just 21 shots on goal and has now out-shot the Golden Knights in both games of this series so far. The Mammoth have the Golden Knights on their heels, and it will be interesting to see how Tortorella and company respond.

Given the uncertainty for Vegas coming off a regulation loss for the first time under Tortorella, Utah seems to have the edge. The Mammoth are a great defensive team, and they have limited Vegas’ Grade A scoring chances well through the first 2 games. The power play hasn’t been clicking, going 0-for-5, but I expect that to change in Game 3. With a great mix of elite puck-movers and scorers that includes Clayton Keller, Mikail Sergachev, Logan Cooley, and Dylan Guenther, it’s only a matter of time before the Mammoth power play gets back on track. Heading back home, that time could be now. Back Utah.
