The Capitals have been the stingiest defensive team in the league to begin the season. They are leading the league in goals against average with an impressive 2.27 goals against per game. Their mediocre start can be attributed to their poor offensive play that has them scoring only 2.55 goals per game, which is a massive decline from the numbers we saw from them last season. In their last five games, the under is 4-1. I do believe they had everything aligning for them last season and their offense was due to take a step back this year.

The Sabres have been producing at a better clip averaging 3.00 goals per game. However, going up against the rock-solid defense of the Capitals is going to give them problems.
