Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea will do battle in the final of the Club World Cup at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, and the English club could make things difficult for the Champions League holders. PSG have been the dominant force in the revamped competition and the UCL winners were mighty impressive when crushing Real Madrid 4-0 in the semifinals. The Parisians hit 17 shots and created an Expected Goals tally of 2.54 against Real, and they limited the La Liga giants to an xG of only 0.68. That blistering performance followed another top-level effort when beating Bayern Munich 2-0 and Luis Enrique’s men are undoubtedly the hottest team in world football. It appears difficult to oppose PSG on their efforts in the knockout stage of the Club World Cup, but perhaps the victories over Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have been a little more taxing than the results suggest.

Chelsea have enjoyed a serene run to the final, with the Blues untroubled in a 2-1 quarterfinal success over Palmeiras and a 2-0 semifinal victory over Fluminense. The west Londoners allowed only 5 shots on target in those 2 matches and it’s been a cruise through the latter stages of the competition for the Blues.  Chelsea are boosted by the arrival of striker Joao Pedro, who scored twice against Fluminense, and while Enzo Maresca’s men step up in class against PSG, the Stamford Bridge team may be able to offer more than the odds suggest. At +120 odds, taking Chelsea and the tie after 90 minutes on the double chance could be the best way to play the Club World Cup final.
