PSG hit Chelsea for 5 in the first leg, but it was a wide-open contest in which the Blues actually had a higher xG and created more solid chances than Luis Enrique’s side. Defensive deficiencies cost them dearly and things didn’t get any better over the weekend with a damaging home loss to Newcastle in the Premier League. Prior to that, the Blues had beaten Aston Villa 4-1, Wrexham 4-3 (AET) in the FA Cup and lost 5-2 in Paris. They have gone 6 games without a shutout in all competitions, and PSG’s attacking array may put them to the sword in a contest they have to chase.
