Connecticut vs BYU Pickswise Expert Predictions

Point Spread Pick
BYU Win +5.5(-115)

No. 3 UConn gets set to face No. 7 BYU on Saturday night in the Hall of Fame Series in Boston. Both teams have looked sharp through their first three games, but this matchup is a major step up in competition for both sides. UConn’s depth and balance are going to challenge BYU on every possession. The Huskies can beat opponents in multiple ways, and they have a dynamic offense with players like Tarris Reed Jr., Solo Ball, and Alex Karaban, who are averaging double digits this season. The Cougars will need to find a way to slow down this Huskies offense, and if they can’t, this game could get out of hand in a hurry.

BYU also brings plenty of scoring to the table that will keep the Huskies on their toes. Richie Saunders, AJ Dybantsa, and Robert Wright III are all averaging double digits this season. We’ll see Tarris Reed Jr. and AJ Dybantsa battling on the glass for rebounds in hopes of giving their team second-chance opportunities. Both teams can defend at a very high level, but this UConn team is shooting and defending the ball slightly better than BYU right now. AJ Dybantsa will have extra energy playing in front of his hometown, and even though this is a neutral site, this arena will be filled with UConn fans. The Huskies have the advantage on both sides of the ball, but I think the Cougars have enough talent to keep this game close to the very end.

BYU vs UConn prediction: BYU +5.5 (-115) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
