Connecticut vs Georgetown Pickswise Expert Predictions

Point Spread Pick
Connecticut -11.5(-115)

The Huskies had to be breathing a sigh of relief after escaping with a 69-64 win over Seton Hall on Tuesday. UConn led by as many as 18 points in that matchup, but with just 47 seconds remaining the Huskies found themselves leading by only 1. On Saturday, UConn has a clear goal: take care of business against Georgetown and avoid giving the Hoyas any chance to pull off an upset at home.

UConn holds the edge in nearly every category in this matchup. The Huskies are averaging 79.3 points per game while allowing just 63.3, showcasing their balance on both ends of the floor. Georgetown, meanwhile, is scoring 77.5 points per game but is struggling defensively — allowing 74.7 per game. Despite recent close calls against Seton Hall and Providence, this UConn team is far too talented to let those minor hiccups linger. The Huskies are shooting 49.4% from the floor and holding opponents to just 38.7%. Georgetown is shooting 43.6% from the floor while allowing opponents to shoot 43.2% — not a recipe for success against this Huskies team. This sets up as a difficult matchup for the Hoyas, as UConn’s defense should have no issues shutting down Georgetown’s offense. Expect UConn to take full advantage of a weak Georgetown defense, making the Huskies my best bet of the day.
