Florida Gators vs Connecticut Huskies Prediction, Odds and Picks for Tuesday, 12/09/25

We head to Madison Square Garden on Tuesday for the Jimmy V Classic, and the second game of the night features the Florida Gators and the UConn Huskies. The Garden might as well be a home game for the Huskies, but this is a great matchup between 2 absolutely loaded rosters and national title contenders. The Gators are the defending champs, and although they turned the roster over a bit, they are still deep and dangerous. UConn, of course, had won the previous 2 championships, and it is one of the deepest teams in the country this year. This game should be a fantastic battle, and I expect it to be close. As such, I’m taking the points with the Gators at +4.5.

Florida has taken 3 losses already, and the most recent one was at Duke. The happy news in that game was that Florida finally started to look better as a team, and Boogie Fland in particular started to improve. The Gators need that trend to continue as they head into the conference schedule. UConn has just 1 loss, and it was to Arizona. Maybe the key thing in this game is the fact that Connecticut plays at nearly the slowest pace in the country. The Huskies rank 326th in adjusted tempo out of 365 Division I teams. The end result is that they are going to play a lot of tight, efficient, contested games, and they are totally fine with that. They believe in their execution down the stretch. Still, I think that gives us a buying opportunity to take the points with Florida, believing that this game will be a tight one in the end. Give me UF plus the points.
