Marquette vs St. John's Pickswise Expert Predictions

Point Spread Pick
St. John's Win -14.0(-105)

After a tough loss to Providence, the St. John’s Red Storm rebounded nicely with back-to-back road wins, defeating Butler by 14 and Creighton by 17. Now back on their home court, the Red Storm will welcome a struggling Marquette team that has lost seven of its last eight games. St. John’s is 7-2 at home this season, while Marquette remains winless on the road, setting up what could be another lopsided result for the Golden Eagles.

St. John’s holds the edge on both ends of the floor. The Red Storm are averaging 85.6 points per game, well above Marquette’s 74.6, and defensively, they allow just 72.7 points per game compared to the Golden Eagles’ 76.4. Rick Pitino has plenty of depth at his disposal, allowing St. John’s to apply pressure for the full 40 minutes. Zuby Ejiofor leads the Red Storm offensively, averaging 15.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. Marquette will need a strong performance from leading scorer Chase Ross (15.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per game), but even if he puts up above-average numbers, that won’t be enough against this St. John’s team at home. Look for Pitino to have his team ready and in control throughout, making St. John’s my best bet of the day.

Marquette vs St. John’s prediction: St. John’s -14 (-105) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
