Point Spread Pick
Louisville Win -30.0(-115)

No. 12 Louisville gets set for a Saturday afternoon matchup with Ohio as the Cardinals look to build on the momentum from their big win over No. 9 Kentucky earlier this week. According to KenPom, the Cardinals are ranked 2nd in adjusted offensive efficiency and ranked 27th in adjusted tempo, which means Ohio is likely to have its hands full in this one. The Bobcats are coming off a 30-point loss against Saint Mary where the Gaels shot 50% from the field. Ohio enters this matchup averaging 72.3 points per game while giving up 82.3, a stat you don’t want to see when you’re set to face one of the nation’s most efficient offenses.

Louisville’s depth has been one of its biggest strengths this season, with six players averaging double figures. Mikel Brown Jr. leads this Cardinals team with 19.3 points and 6.7 assists per game, and he’ll likely be a key piece of this Cardinals offense in this matchup. For Ohio, Jackson Paveletzke leads the way with 18 points and 4 assists per game, and while the Bobcats have four players averaging double digits, the games they’ve played will be nothing compared to what Louisville brings to the floor. Louisville plays at a fast pace, and they’re holding opponents to just a 37.2 shooting percentage from the floor. This will likely be a long night for Ohio as I don’t see them keeping this game remotely close, making Louisville my best bet of the day.

Ohio vs Louisville prediction: Louisville -30 (-115) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
