Ole Miss vs Texas Pickswise Expert Predictions

Point Spread Pick
Texas Win -9.5(-105)

Ole Miss will wrap up its four-game road trip on Saturday against the Texas Longhorns as a sizable underdog – and for good reason. The Rebels have lost four straight, averaging 65.8 points per game while allowing 76.3. Granted, those losses came against strong competition, including then-No. 18 Vanderbilt, then-No. 25 Tennessee, and Kentucky on the road, but Texas is no easy matchup either. The Longhorns have won three of their last four games, highlighted by a 20-point win over then-No. 21 Georgia. After a tough loss to Auburn, Texas has bounced back with a 10-point win over Oklahoma and a nine-point win over South Carolina.

The Longhorns haven’t always put together a complete 40-minute performance this season, but this is a matchup they should be able to control from start to finish. Texas holds a clear scoring advantage with Dailyn Swain, who is shooting 57.7% from the floor while averaging 17.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. The Longhorns can’t rely on Swain to do it all, but they do have three other players who are averaging double digits, which brings depth to this Texas team, and the Rebels won’t have much of an answer for it. Ole Miss has three players averaging double digits, with AJ Storr leading the way with 14 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. The Longhorns have the edge in rebounding, offensive efficiency, and shooting percentage. Expect another tough outing for Ole Miss on the road as Texas takes care of business, making the Longhorns my best bet of the day.

Ole Miss vs Texas prediction: Texas -9.5 (-110) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
