St. John's vs Creighton Pickswise Expert Predictions

Point Spread Pick
Creighton -1.0(-115)

After a tough loss against Providence, the Red Storm bounced back nicely with a 84-70 win over Butler. Zuby Ejiofor led St. John’s with 18 points, while Bryce Hopkins added 17 points of his own to help his team cruise to victory in the second half. Rick Pitino has done an excellent job rebuilding this St. John’s program over the past three seasons, but one hurdle remains: he has never beaten Creighton at the CHI Health Center while at St. John’s, and he’ll look to change that on Saturday.

Creighton appears to have found its rhythm. Since falling to Kansas State, the Blue Jays are 5-1 in their last six games and are 4-1 in conference play. Offense was an issue early in the season, but the Blue Jays now seem to have found their stride, and a big reason for that is Austin Swartz. The Miami transfer is rising up in a big way, and after scoring eight total points in his first six games, he’s averaging 18.8 points and shooting 47.1% from the floor in his last six. St. John’s last road win against Creighton came back in 2019, and that drought is likely to continue against Creighton as they continue to improve as the season goes on. The Blue Jays play at a much slower pace than the Red Storm, and they should be able to control the speed of this game for the full 40 minutes. Look for Swartz and Dix to lead this Blue Jays team to victory, making them my best bet of the day.
