Texas Tech Red Raiders vs Arizona Wildcats Prediction, Odds and Picks for Today, 02/14/26

We have yet another huge battle at the top of the Big 12 standings as the Texas Tech Red Raiders face the Arizona Wildcats. Arizona is looking to rebound from a tough road loss at Kansas earlier this week, while the Red Raiders had a light midweek contest in which it smashed lowly Colorado. Both teams are loaded with stars, are elite on both ends of the floor and play very fast. I don’t think Tech is likely to pull off the upset, but the 9-point spread isn’t a number I like. I do, however, expect this game to spill into the 80s — so let’s take the game total over 157.

Here is what we ought to expect from each team. Texas Tech is an elite 3-point shooting team. The Red Raiders are a top-10 team in 3-point make rate. They also take a ton of them. Arizona allows teams to shoot about as many as they want, but it won’t let you score inside hardly at all — so the deep ball will be the path to points for the Red Raiders. JT Toppin is an elite player, but operating inside against Arizona will be among his hardest assignments of the season, and the Wildcats don’t really allow second chance points. For Arizona, expect it to operate close to the basket. The ‘Cats will attack the rim, rebound well and try to apply pressure to Toppin defensively. Toppin absolutely has to avoid foul trouble, so he is going to have to choose his spots to help and block shots. Arizona at the rim, Tech from behind the arc and lots and lots of running…. That is what I’m expecting.
