Vanderbilt vs VCU Pickswise Expert Predictions

Point Spread Pick
Vanderbilt -6.0(-110)

VCU’s defense stepped up in their last game, holding a high-powered USF offense to just 66 points. Unfortunately for the Rams, the challenge only gets tougher in the Battle 4 Atlantis as they now face another explosive offense. No. 24 Vanderbilt is averaging 99.7 points per game and holding their opponents to 73.8 points. However, Vanderbilt did struggle in their matchup against Western Kentucky yesterday, escaping with only a 5-point win, but they did manage to shoot 45.3% from the field.

The one thing VCU needs to do in this matchup is grab rebounds. The Rams did not shoot the best in their win over South Florida, hitting just 38.7% of their shots, and shooting at that clip will not cut it against this Vanderbilt offense. VCU will look to put together another strong defensive performance against Vanderbilt, just like they did against South Florida, and force the Commodores to turn it over and make tough shots. This will be another tough matchup for the Rams, and even though Vanderbilt hasn’t covered a spread in their last three games, that changes today. The Commodores have a ton of depth and play at a fast pace, and it will be too much for the Rams to handle. Look for Vanderbilt to get things done and come out with a big win in the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament.

Vanderbilt vs VCU prediction: Vanderbilt -6 (-110) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
