The Ball State Cardinals and Northwestern Wildcats square off at Ryan Field, and we're likely going to see a lopsided affair. Ball State has lost all four games against FBS opponents so far this season, and each of those losses have been by 13 or more points. They faced a Big Ten opponent already, too, losing 56-3 at Ohio State on September 5. The over has cashed in four of five games so far, as Ball State has allowed at least 26 points in all four games against FBS foes, and they even allowed 17 points to Stony Brook of the FCS.
For Northwestern, they are flying high after thumping Penn State 34-13 last time out as a 2.5-point underdog. The Wildcats improved to 3-1 SU and 4-0 against the spread (ATS). However, we're looking at the over, as it has cashed in three of four games with the Wildcats going for 34 or more points in three of their outings. Northwestern has allowed 21.0 PPG in the past two games, too, although Ball State would be doing well to simply get into double digits. Look for the Wildcats to do most of the heavy lifting, scoring at least 45 points.
Ball State vs Northwestern prediction: Over 52.5 (-110) at time of publishing. Playable to -120.
