The Midshipmen are already a shell of themselves offensively compared to last season, and now starting quarterback Braxton Woodson could miss this game due to an ankle injury sustained prior to the bye week against FAU. Navy usually can rip and replace quarterbacks to fit their scheme, but laying a full touchdown against a pesky UAB team while shorthanded and still figuring out how to replace last year's stars is not an appealing place to be.
Indiana might be 0-3 ATS, but consider the context; they're 0-3 ATS in games with lines north of 40 points. The Hoosiers have shutout their last two opponents, and they own a 145-16 scoring edge through three games, so don't read into that 0-3 mark at all. They present a much more difficult test for Northwestern than previous opponents South Dakota State and Colorado. The Wildcats could be especially vulnerable against the run, where the are 113th in success rate allowed and 131st in line yards allowed.
Clemson needed a weather delay to rally the troops and beat North Carolina after looking like a JV team against LSU and leaving much to be desired against Georgia Southern. Now, the Dabo Swinney and the Tigers will travel out west for the first time in this new-look ACC. Not to mention, Clemson will have a true freshman in Tait Reynolds under center. Reynolds may pan out as a college quarterback, but there's no doubt Cal has the quarterback advantage here with Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele.
Let's kickstart our Saturday CFB parlay by taking Boston College to stay within two touchdowns of Virginia Tech at home. The Hokies' lone "notable" win came 35-26 over Maryland, and with Pitt to come six days after this matchup, VT could be caught looking ahead. The Eagles showed their mettle in a 28-21 win over Rutgers, and Bill O'Brien's team should be able to make this one interesting.
Next, I'm taking Florida to get the better of Ole Miss. This is one of the standout games of the week, and I can see this being a let-down spot for the Rebels, who just earned a highly emotional win over LSU last week. Florida beat Auburn last week and boast a strong offense that can dictate the pace and tempo behind QB Aaron Philo and running back Jaden Baugh. Let's take the Gators to earn a huge win in the Swamp.
For the final leg of our Saturday CFB parlay, I'm banking on UMass staying hot against Sacramento State. The Minutemen went winless last year but that's all changed now since their shock 37-21 victory over Rutgers to open the season. They've since proved that's no fluke, scoring 36+ points in each of their three games. Take them to keep rolling against a Sacramento State team that's struggling to make the leap from FCS to FBS.
