The best of this number is already gone. FanDuel and BetRivers were at 62.5 on Sunday morning, and DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM and BetRivers all sit at 63.5 now, with DraftKings and FanDuel dealing the over at -105. I'm still taking it. West Virginia's last five games have all gone over the closing total, and the last two finished with 87 and 83 points. The defense is the reason: the Mountaineers allow 37.8 points per game against FBS opponents (125th in the country) and 322.4 passing yards (last of 138 teams).
Against FBS teams, West Virginia runs for 291.4 yards a game, second in the country, and Cincinnati's defense allows 6.16 yards per play, 121st. The weak link is Cincinnati's passing game, 115th in those games at 178.0 yards, and the Bearcats scored seven at Arizona last time out. However, quarterback JC French IV is the only Big 12 starter who hasn't thrown an interception. Cincinnati's own games have cleared the closing total three times in five, including 66 points against Miami (OH), and the Morgantown forecast calls for mostly sunny skies. The climb in this total since Sunday is the market reaching the same conclusion, and with two defenses this porous, 63.5 is still a number worth taking.
Cincinnati vs West Virginia prediction: Over 63.5 (-105) available at time of publishing. Playable to to -110.
