Florida vs Ole Miss Pickswise Expert Predictions

Point Spread Pick
Mississippi -14.5(-110)

Last season, the Ole Miss Rebels were 8-2 heading into the final couple of games in the season as college football playoff hopefuls. In their second to last game of the season, Ole Miss traveled to Florida to take on the Gators, and they walked out with a 24-17 loss and with their hope of a college football playoff appearance depleted. One year later, Ole Miss is in the same position, and they will be looking to avoid Florida as a potential road block. Ole Miss has a record of 9-1 this season and a SEC record of 5-1. They have won their last three games, including their last win over The Citadel 49-0.  Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss was able to keep his groove, throwing for 333 yards and 3 touchdowns. It was a game the Rebels could work out some kinks before preparing for the final stretch of their season. The Florida Gators have a record of 3-6 and a SEC record of 2-4. Florida has lost their last two games, including their loss last week to Kentucky 38-7. Quarterback DJ Lagway had arguably his worst game of the season, throwing for only 83 yards and 3 interceptions. He will be looking to bounce back this week.

After firing head coach Billy Napier midway through the season, the Florida Gators are beginning to look forward to next season. Interim head coach Billy Gonzales has filled the role temporarily, but the Gators are expected to look outside the program for hiring once the season ends. Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin has had his name thrown around for the position. If Kiffin wants the Florida job, this is essentially an interview for Kiffin. Kiffin has had one of his best coaching seasons this year, and he should have the opportunity to display how well-coached the Rebels are this Saturday. Florida showed the negative effects of a midseason head coaching change last week against Kentucky. The Gators were outcoached, Lagway seemed lost, and the injuries are continuing to build. The players that were on last year’s Ole Miss team remember the loss to Florida late last year, including Kiffin. I expect Ole Miss to win big in a revenge spot.

Ole Miss -14.5 is available at the time of publishing. Playable at that number.
