Kentucky vs Georgia Pickswise Expert Predictions

Kentucky Wildcats
Point Spread Pick
Kentucky +20.5(-110)

The Kentucky Wildcats head to Athens on Saturday afternoon to face the Georgia Bulldogs. Georgia is coming off an emotional 24-21 loss at home to Alabama. Kentucky, on the other hand, got smacked around by South Carolina last week, 35-13. Conventional wisdom would say that Georgia will destroy Kentucky, both because they are the far better team, and because Georgia will be looking to get the taste of the Alabama loss out of their mouths. But history is not on their side—heavily favored teams coming off a home loss like that are historically far more likely to experience a hangover than to blow away the next opponent. This is not a fun bet to make, and I am sure it will never feel comfortable, but I think the correct play is Kentucky to cover the huge +20.5 spread.

Kentucky is not a good football team, make no mistake about it. They are a revolving door at QB right now, with no viable option on the roster, it would seem. They will have to lean on the ground game to find success, but that will be hard against Georgia. They do, however, have a good defense, and they just have a weird way of mucking up a game and making it ugly. The Dawgs have the superior roster at probably every position, but it feels like Vegas is daring us to take the Dawgs to win by 3 scores. I would not be surprised if Georgia is in total control of this game, but still does not cover the gigantic spread. I am risking the terrible Wildcats in this spot.
