Miami (OH) Redhawks vs Rutgers Scarlet Knights Prediction, Odds and Picks for Saturday, 09/06/25
Miami Ohio vs Rutgers Pickswise Expert Predictions
The Miami (OH) Redhawks are coming off a shutout loss against Wisconsin in which the offense looked putrid, posting just 117 yards of total offense without a score to show for it. The Rutgers defense looks to have its cracks once again in 2025 after giving up over 400 yards against Ohio, but this is an ideal spot for a get-right matchup as this defense is composed of several transfers playing together for the first time. The run defense could be a problem, but I would be surprised if Miami (OH) didn’t lean on QB Dequan Finn and the pass game after posting 1.5 yards per carry across 22 attempts in Week 1.
The Rutgers offense showed some flash in the first half in the season opener. QB Athan Kaliakmanis is a veteran that looked poised to begin the year, and the one-two punch in the backfield with Antwan Raymond and CJ Campbell Jr. should give the Redhawks front seven fits. Miami’s defensive line is far from the physicality level of the Rutgers’ offensive line, which is beginning to look more and more like a typical Big 10 squad with additions in the portal. I’ll trust the talent the Scarlet Knights have brought in and chalk up that second half against Ohio to Week 1 woes, give me Rutgers to win big at home.
Miami (OH) vs Rutgers prediction: Rutgers -14.5 (-110) available at time of publishing. Playable up to -15.5 (-110).
