New Mexico vs Boise State Pickswise Expert Predictions
The New Mexico Lobos head to the blue turf of Boise to face the Boise State Broncos on Saturday night. The Lobos entered the season with a new coaching staff and a depleted roster, and while they have probably been better than expected, they are definitely outmanned this weekend against the Broncos. Boise, for their part, is coming off a tough 28-7 loss at Notre Dame last week, and they certainly need to assert their dominance over the Mountain West during the second half of the season. With the spread currently sitting at -16.5, I don’t love either side of that, so I am pivoting to the game total over 59.5.
Boise has had no trouble posting huge point totals against the lesser defenses on their schedule. They managed only 7 points against both Notre Dame and South Florida, but they scored nearly 50 against both Air Force and Appalachian State. And which of those is New Mexico more like? The Broncos should be able to get us 40+ of these points by themselves. The Lobos have been better on offense than defense, and they should be able to get us at least 17 to 20 points. This point total is high, but I think we should be able to sail past it with a high-octane Mountain West game.
New Mexico vs Boise State Prediction: Over 59.5 (-110) available at the time of publishing. Playable at that number.
