TCU vs Kansas State Pickswise Expert Predictions
We have Big 12 action on Saturday afternoon as TCU travels to face Kansas State. The Wildcats have been the conference’s biggest disappointment so far, beginning the season 2-4. They dropped another tough one at Baylor last week, a game that they led by 14 at one point in the second half. But returning home helps, as they face a very similar offense again this week in the form of TCU. The Frogs have been great so far, with their only loss coming on the road to Arizona State. The Frogs are a solid team, and they are rightly favored, but if you are sniffing around the slate for an upset spot, there are some reasons to look at the Wildcats. My TCU vs Kansas State prediction is Kansas State to win at home.
The early struggles for Kansas State also coincided with the absence of their best running back, Dylan Edwards. In his absence, the offense was way out of balance toward the pass, and this is just not a passing attack team. They need to run the ball, and then use that to create RPO looks for their dual-threat QB Avery Johnson. Working in the Wildcats’ favor is the fact that TCU has struggled in particular to stop the run, and I think that will be a problem on Saturday. The Frogs like to sling it around, and make no mistake, this offense is potent. But a couple of stops out of the K-State defense (which is a proud and veteran unit) and this game could swing the direction of the Wildcats. I like the home team to hold serve in front of an impactful crowd in the Little Apple.
