Utah State Aggies vs Vanderbilt Commodores Prediction, Odds and Picks for Saturday, 09/27/25

Eighteenth ranked Vanderbilt will try to go 5-0 this Saturday when they welcome in the 3-1 Utah State Aggies. The Vanderbilt Commodores are ranked in the top 25 for the second year in a row. The last two seasons under head coach Clark Lea have turned around a program that was last ranked in 2008. Vanderbilt is coming off a 70-21 victory over Georgia State last week. The Commodores were able to handily cover a spread of 26.5 points. Quarterback Diego Pavia led the offense, throwing for 245 yards and rushing for 86 yards. Pavia has been excellent to start the season, throwing for 890 yards total and 8 touchdowns. Utah State also won their game last week 48-7 against McNeese. The Aggies were also able to easily cover a spread of 23.5 points. Quarterback Bryson Barnes led Utah State with 293 yards passing and 128 yards rushing. Barnes accounted for 5 total touchdowns. Barnes has had success all season, throwing for 982 yards and 8 touchdowns in his first four games.

Despite being undefeated and ranked, Vanderbilt may still be one of the better teams in the SEC that not a lot of people are talking about. Vanderbilt has dominated their opponents to start the season, covering in all four wins. Their offense ranks 8th in scoring in the FBS, averaging 47.5 points per game. They move the ball well on both the ground and through the air, with a total yards per game average of 482. The Commodores have also gotten it done defensively this season, only allowing their opponents to score 12.8 points per game. Their best defensive performance is when they held South Carolina to seven points on their home field two weeks ago. This season, the Commodores defense has a +5 turnover advantage. Utah State has had one game this season against an SEC opponent. They allowed Texas A&M to gain 554 total yards of offense. I don’t believe Utah State has the personnel to be the team to slow down Vanderbilt. I have Vanderbilt to continue to their dominant start.
