Wake Forest Demon Deacons
Money Line Pick
Oregon State Win(+120)

We are going to go out on a limb here and speculate that if the Beavers weren’t 0-6 that they would be the favorite here. But that’s the thing, teams that are winless and struggle to cover as Oregon State has (1-4-1 ATS) almost always take back an inflated price otherwise no one else would consider betting them. Let’s forget about Oregon State for a moment and focus on Wake. Is anything about them, suggestive, that they should a road favorite? Perhaps not.

The Deacs haven’t played this role yet this season and when they have won, they were the underdog at Virginia Tech, a -18 favorite hosting Kennesaw State in Week One where they won by one, and they beat up on FCS Western Carolina. Oregon State though winless could be classed as better. After all, look at who the Beavers have played: California (who are 4-2), Fresno State (5-1, winning their last five), at Texas Tech (undefeated and in the top ten), at Oregon (arguably the best team in the country), nearly upset undefeated Houston, and they had a narrow loss against Appalachian State who is a mid-major power. Wake Forest is a step down in class while the Deacs are going to Corvallis which is notoriously known as a tough place to win, expected to do to just that. But because Oregon State has looked bad on paper, we get the home side at a discount. Wrong side favored.

Wake Forest vs. Oregon State prediction: Oregon State +120 (Money Line), playable at number available at time of publishing.
