Western Kentucky Hilltoppers vs Toledo Rockets Prediction, Odds and Picks for Saturday, 09/06/25

The Toledo Rockets are coming off a one-possession loss on the road against SEC opponent Kentucky. The offense showed flashes, but struggled to establish the run against a physical Kentucky front seven. With that being said, I expect the run game to open up a bit more this week considering Western Kentucky struggled to stop the run against Sam Houston State, allowing 5.6 yards per carry and 173 total yards and 2 TDs on the ground.

Toledo finished the 2024 season ranked 24th in defensive passing efficiency and looked mighty efficient to open the year, limiting the Wildcats to just 85 yards through the air, forcing an INT and just a 43.4% completion percentage. The Hilltoppers have an extra game under their belt, but Sam Houston State and North Alabama are far inferior compared to the competition Toledo has faced in just one game. The Rockets dropped this matchup on the road last season, and I’ll back them to get revenge and cover the spread in the home opener.
