To kick off our MLB Wild Card parlay today, I'm going straight for an underdog and for the Phillies to beat the Braves. Philadelphia limped into the playoffs and is on the road against Chris Sale, but boast one of the most potent lineups in baseball that have a ton of postseason experience. Meanwhile, the Phillies will have a one-two punch with Jesus Luzardo and Andrew Painter on the mound, and should keep Atlanta in check.
Next, we'll be going with another slight underdog in the White Sox to beat the Astros. Houston is definitely vulnerable here, posting a .500 record, and could have its hands full against this Chicago team that racked up 84 wins. Both sides are going with a bullpen game, where the White Sox have the edge, so getting them at plus-money odds looks good value.
Our first favorite for our MLB parlay will be the Yankees taking care of the Red Sox. New York will have Cy Young contender Cam Schlittler on the mound, who posted a 1.95 ERA this season and has seen Boston three times already this year. The Red Sox averaged just 2.1 runs per game over their last 10, while the Yankees posted an emphatic 4.1 mark. The Bronx Bombers should take advantage in Game 1 tonight.
To hopefully bring home today's MLB Wild Card parlay, I'm backing the Padres to do the business against the Cubs. San Diego enter the postseason in excellent form, winning eight of their last 10 games and boasting a 51-30 record at Petco Park. I expect both trends to improve further with Michael King on the bound for the Padres.
