Both the Sacramento Kings and the Los Angeles Clippers will likely be in the hunt for that No. 1 overall pick if the ping pong ball lands correctly. Expectations for both of these California teams are extremely low heading into the new season, although the addition of Darius Acuff Jr. will give the Kings a little bit of excitement.
For the Clippers, they had a horrendous offseason. Kawhi Leonard was dealt, the owner and top executives were suspended, and there could be additional penalties coming with some legal/judicial issues. Yikes. On the court, Max Strus and Brandon Ingram are already injured, and will begin the season on the shelf, as LA starts the season shorthanded. There is actually a little less dysfunction on the Kings, and Acuff, Domantas Sabonis and company could spring the upset in Game 1. We'll simply take the points, though.
