Only two teams remain in the NBA without a win after 5 games played and the Sacramento Kings are one of those two teams. Not surprising at all considering how poorly constructed this team is. Veterans like Zach LaVine and Domantas Sabonis are putting up numbers, but you’d be hard pressed to find anyone on this team putting in the effort on the defensive end. Only the Chicago Bulls allow more than the 126.8 ppg the Kings let in, it’s fairly obvious that this team is going to blow it up very soon and go into yet another reconstruction cycle.
Memphis, on the other hand, has been arguably the most pleasant surprise with their 5-0 SU start to the year. They’re just coming back home from an impressive sweep of Golden State, Sacramento, Utah and Portland, all on the road. Ty Jerome has blossomed into a scoring machine, but has cooled off a bit since his hot start in the first 3 games which saw him lead the league in scoring for a hot minute. His status ahead of Saturday’s game remains questionable as the team has him listed as day-to-day with a back issue. A cooling off period is to be expected for the Grizz, there’s no way this team will be able to keep winning at this pace.
Obviously the Kings aren’t going 0-82 on the season… right? It’s only a matter of time they take someone down, tonight just might be their night. The first meeting of the season was relatively close, if Ty Jerome isn’t able to go here then the Kings just might get their first win of the season. At this price, I think I’ll go with the road team to win outright in this one.
