Nuggets vs Thunder Same Game Parlay Best SGP Picks

The first week of the 2026-27 NBA season continues on Thursday with a double-header on ESPN that starts with Cavaliers vs 76ers and concludes with Nuggets vs Thunder. Thursday’s nightcap is an intriguing Western Conference clash between two of the last four NBA champions.

Nuggets vs Thunder Same Game Parlay Picks 

Nuggets +8.5 (-112) 

Jamal Murray Over 22.5 points (-119) 

Chet Holmgren to record a double-double (+188) 

Nuggets vs Thunder SGP odds: +750 

Part of the value in a Same Game Parlay, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is some of the plan here, as Denver guard Jamal Murray scoring his fair share of points would obviously work well with a Nuggets cover. At the same time, plays that aren’t correlated drive up the overall payout of the parlay. That is the case with also backing Oklahoma City big man Chet Holmgren to record a double-double. But even if he does, there is no reason why the visitors can’t be competitive. Let’s break down each of the three legs. 

Nuggets vs Thunder SGP Pick: Denver Nuggets +8.5 over OKC Thunder (-112) 

There is no denying that the Thunder looked good – very good – in their season opener on Tuesday night. However, they left absolutely every ounce of physical and emotional energy on the court in what was a rematch of the Western Conference Finals against the arch-rival Spurs. That might as well have been a playoff game in October. The Nuggets, on the other hand, are perfectly well-rested on the heels of a long offseason. Aside from a couple of bench players, Denver is armed with a clean bill of health – not something you can often say about this particular team. Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, Christian Braun, Cameron Johnson and newcomer DeMar DeRozan are all good to go. These two teams faced each other four times during the 2025-26 regular season; Oklahoma City won by more than three points in regulation only once (OKC prevailed in overtime at home on February 27, battled to a three-point win at home on March 9 and lost 127-107 at Denver on April 10). This is simply too big of a spread; give me the visitors plus a wealth of points.

Nuggets vs Thunder SGP Pick: Jamal Murray Over 22.5 points (-119) 

Oklahoma City is a sound defensive team, but it will likely devote its best resources to containing Jokic. The joker’s presence alone should open things up for Murray, who averaged 24.0 ppg in three games against OKC during the 2025-26 campaign. The Kentucky product wrapped up last season with a trio of 30-point performances and one 24-point effort in a first-round loss to Minnesota. It’s also worth noting that he stormed out of the 2025-26 gates with point totals of 25, 23 and 43. I'm looking for another hot start for Murray this season.

Nuggets vs Thunder SGP Pick: Chet Holmgren to record a double-double (+188)  

Health – or a lack thereof – is really the only thing that has held Holmgren back at times in the early stages of his NBA career. Well, that isn’t a factor following a much-needed offseason. The former Gonzaga standout tarted last season with double-doubles in three of his first four games, a stretch that featured outputs of 28 and 31 points. He scored in double-figures in 23 of his first 24 contests. Holmgren also delivered double-doubles in two of the last three games against San Antonio in the Western Conference Finals. The 24-year-old came up three rebounds short against the Spurs on Tuesday, but he averaged an impressive 12.5 rebounds in two appearances against Denver during the 2025-26 regular season.
