Nuggets vs Thunder Pickswise Expert Predictions
The final game of the second round will be Game 7 between the Denver Nuggets and the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Nuggets were able to force a decider with a 119-107 victory on their home court. Jamal Murray produced 25 points despite playing the game while sick. Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets in scoring with 29 points on an efficient 9-of-14 shooting. Now Shai-Gilgeous Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder need to respond to avoid being knocked out in the second round for the second straight year.
The question for the Thunder heading into this game will be surrounding their bench and role players. Can they produce like they have done all season in the big moment? The spotlight will be on Jalen Williams, Luguentz Dort, Alex Caruso and Cason Wallace. Those 4 shot a combined 15-of-43 in Game 6, and they were all in the negative for plus/minus. It is true that role players often play better in the postseason on their home court, but we have not yet seen the Thunder play in a Game 7 environment. The Nuggets were able to win a Game 7 convincingly just last round against the Clippers and have the championship experience you can trust in a win-or-go home scenario. I believe the Nuggets have been undervalued by the spread in this series. They have been underdogs in all 6 contests, but they ended up winning and/or covering in 5. You could make a case for either team winning Game 7, which will hopefully lead to an entertaining and close contest that goes down to the wire.
Nuggets vs Thunder prediction: Denver +8.5 (-110) available at time of publishing. Playable at that number.
