NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year best bet: Travis Hunter, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars (+1000)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Travis Hunter has the chance to do something we haven’t seen in the NFL, and that’s play a ton of snaps at both the wide receiver and cornerback position. However, it does seem that he’s a wide receiver first and foremost, which points me in the direction of the Offensive Rookie of the Year market.

I’m optimistic about the Jacksonville offense this season, especially since new head coach Liam Coen should help Trevor Lawrence be the best version of himself under center, much like he did for Baker Mayfield last year. If that ends up being the case, there should be plenty of production to go around for both Hunter and Brian Thomas Jr. at the wide receiver position. Ultimately, in terms of name recognition and the potential for a media machine push, there aren’t many better options than an electrifying talent like Hunter.

NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year longshot pick: Emeka Egbuka, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+2500)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.

Of all of the longshots in this market, I’m a bit surprised that Emeka Egbuka isn’t getting more love from oddsmakers here. The former Ohio State wide receiver is probably the most consistent player at his position in this rookie class, and it showed in his production in a Buckeye uniform. And while Tampa Bay has plenty of receiving weapons for Baker Mayfield, it remains to be seen if Chris Godwin can remain healthy, and 31-year-old Mike Evans is certainly at risk for suffering an injury at some point in the season.

If either of those things come to pass, Egbuka’s role could certainly be similar to what we saw from Jalen McMillan a season ago, as the former Washington product racked up 7 touchdowns in the final 5 games of his rookie campaign. At 25-1, I’ll take a shot on a player of Egbuka’s quality to be in the mix come January.
