Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. Few would have predicted that the conference finals this year would end in a couple of series sweeps. That is exactly the prospect we are facing after the Denver Nuggets put away the Los Angeles Lakers last night. Surprisingly, however, it is the #2 seed Celtics who find themselves in a 3-0 hole and playing on the road tonight. The Heat seemed to have delivered a knockout blow with their 26-point win in Game 3. It leaves the visitors having to overcome a monumental challenge to become the first NBA team to come back from 3 games down. With talents such as Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum on their roster, they cannot be completely ruled out.

Celtics vs Heat first basket best bet: Bam Adebayo (+550)

The Boston Celtics made an adjustment in Game 3 of the series, moving Robert Williams III to the bench. That left an older and far less athletic center in Al Horford jumping for the opening tip. While he was still surprisingly able to overcome Bam Adebayo to win the the opening possession for the Celtics, he should find it tough to pull off the same feat again. The Heat have scored the opening basket in 2 0f the 3 games in this series and should be well positioned to improve on that.

Bam Adebayo should be a great candidate to open the scoring. He has already done so once in these conference finals,  while in another game he opened the scoring for the Heat. Look for them to turn to him first tonight. The Heat center has now appeared in 90 games this season, opening the scoring for his team 28 times. On 9 occasions, it was the opening points in the game overall. No other player has managed more in each category for the hosts. As Horford does not provide great rim protection, Adebayo should have little issue finishing in the paint. Despite a reduced role in playing time in Game 3 due to the blowout, Adebayo still managed to shoot 80% from the field. With that level of efficiency, do not be surprised to see the hosts turn to him from the get-go.
