Best player prop for Monday's MLB slate: Steele gives it up
It’s Labor Day and by law we have to bet some MLB player props today. Put in the work is what I always say. Luckily for us is DraftKings gives us the opportunity to bet home runs allowed by a pitcher. Some are calling it the most electric MLB player prop bet in the history of MLB player prop bets. We’ll have to let history decide that one but I will tell you this; once you bet one of these, there’s no going back. Here are 2 for today and they are in the same game. Hats off to me for finding these.
On top of this article, you should definitely check out our experts’ picks on all of the MLB action today. It’s just a smart thing to do. Also, bets can be added to the card, so why not follow me on Twitter in case we get some last-second action? Once lineups are announced for some of these games, there is a chance for opportunity to knock.
Justin Steele over 0.5 Home Runs Allowed (-110)
Line available at DraftKings at time of publishing.
The only book with this MLB player prop is DraftKings so obviously we will play it there. At some point I think BetMGM lets us bet these since they have so many other MLB player props but it won’t be today. As for FanDuel, who really knows with them. We can hold out hope though.
Here’s what I know about Justin Steele; he’s a fun guy to bet. His price for strikeouts is creeping up but his dinger number is right where we want it. First off, he’s started 4 games this season and he’s given up a dong in 3 of them. He’s pretty stretched out now too so he could throw 90+ pitches today which helps our chances.
If he throws 90+ pitches to the Cincinnati Reds he should give up at least 1 homer. Three guys in the Reds lineup have homered off of him before and only 7 teams have hit more dingers in the last month than Cincinnati. The wind is blowing in from left at Wrigley Field today but it’s only at 7 mph so that shouldn’t be a factor. This is a good bet.
