I'm an NFL handicapper here at Pickswise who was raised in a household full of sports fanatics. Since I unfortunately never had LeBron James' jumping ability I wasn't able to make it to the NBA, and chose writing about sports as the next best thing. An avid sports bettor myself, I'm excited to get to write about the industry as it gets set to take off across the country. Buckle up. Week 16 of the 2021 NFL season is upon us, and right now it’s time to talk some player props. With so many games to take data from, bettors and oddsmakers alike will all have a pretty good idea of how to approach certain players and teams when it comes to props, and there are usually a few opportunities to take advantage. I believe I’ve found a couple of great NFL player props that are worth honing in on.

Let’s get down to my two favorite NFL player props of the Sunday slate, but make sure you also check out our expert NFL picks and NFL predictions for every single game. It’s the smart thing to do.

NFL Player Props: Alexander Mattison over 21.5 receiving yards (-115)

Line available at DraftKings at time of publishing.

Dalvin Cook is on the COVID list, meaning Mattison will get another start here. In three games as the starter this year, Mattison has been dynamite as a pass-catcher. He’s gotten to at least 34 receiving yards in all three of those games, and in two of them he had at least six catches for 40+ yards. All while drawing a target share north of 16 percent from Kirk Cousins. If the Rams’ defense has a main weakness, it would probably be their linebackers. With Jalen Ramsey likely at least partially neutralizing Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen dealing with a significant ankle injury, Cousins will likely be looking for his backs and tight ends even more than usual.

NFL Player Props: Noah Fant over 39.5 receiving yards (-105)

Line available at DraftKings at time of publishing.

Looking at the later games, I think Fant should have another big game. With this being Drew Lock’s first start of the season, he’ll likely lean on the tight ends and simpler throws. Lock and Fant have a lot of familiarity and experience with one another, as they were both members of the Broncos’ 2019 draft class and developed a rapport last season. He’ll be a comfortable and reliable target over the middle, and Fant has gone over 50 yards in each of the past two weeks. The Raiders have also allowed the fifth-most yards to tight ends of any team in the league this season.
