The final weekend of the 2023-24 NHL season is officially behind us, but we still have a few days to enjoy before the Stanley Cup playoffs begin. Better yet, there is still plenty up for grabs, including postseason berths, better seeding and even the Presidents’ Trophy. That means considering each team’s motivation is crucial when it comes to handicapping games, and we’ve made sure to take that into account with our best NHL parlay picks for today. Along with our NHL mega parlay, be sure to check out all of our NHL predictions for today’s action!

NHL Parlay Picks (4/15)

Sabres ML (+154)

Penguins ML & under 5.5 goals (+275)

Rangers ML (-218)

NHL parlay odds: +1289

Buffalo Sabres ML over Tampa Bay Lightning (+154)

One of the earlier games of the night takes place in Tampa Bay where the Lightning are in their pursuit of getting back to the Stanley Cup Final after missing it last year for the first time in the past 4 seasons. However, we’re going to be fading them tonight, as they have nothing left to play for. Their playoff spot is secure and it’s locked into a Wild Card spot, as they cannot improve their seeding any further.

Their core of Steven Stamkos, Nikita Kucherov and Victor Hedman have already been a part of several long playoff runs, so there is no need to push those veterans any more than necessary. Of course, the Buffalo Sabres don’t have anything to play for in terms of earning a playoff spot, but they have been keen on playing spoiler down the stretch. They’ve beaten the Washington Capitals twice and the Philadelphia Flyers over the past 2 weeks, who are 2 teams in a heated Wild Card race. Along with having beaten the Lightning in 4 of the last 5 matchups, we’re starting our NHL parlay picks for today with a road underdog.

Don’t miss our best NHL player prop bets for tonight’s games — we’re on a 25-7 run!

Pittsburgh Penguins ML over Nashville Predators & Under 5.5 goals (+275)

Our next pick is another one of the earlier matchups, but rather than a divisional battle, we have an inter-conference clash. As mentioned before even diving into our NHL parlay picks, motivation is a key factor during these last few days, and the Pittsburgh Penguins have as much as any team. At the trade deadline, it looked as though they were waving the white flag, but Sidney Crosby wasn’t having it. He has been carrying the Pens and now has them with a chance at a Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.

While they don’t have the best chance of the teams competing for it, a home game against a Nashville Predators team that has already clinched isn’t the worst situation. There is very little room for improvement for the Preds, so after beating up on the Columbus Blue Jackets the other night, they would be wise to rest up for the postseason. Crosby and company have also defeated Nashville in 3 of their last 4 meetings, and each of the last 5 matchups have finished with 5 or fewer goals. Therefore, we’re adding even more plus-money to our NHL parlay picks for today with this combination play.

New York Rangers ML over Ottawa Senators (-218)

With such great odds in the first 2 legs of our NHL parlay picks, we can be a bit more conservative with our final play. Like the others, we’re focused on a team with far more motivation, which would be the New York Rangers. They’ve been atop the entire Eastern Conference for much of the season, so it’s not a playoff spot that they’re concerned with. Instead, they have their sights on the 2024 Presidents’ Trophy.

Their 112 points are the most in the league, but the Dallas Stars are just a point behind, and there are multiple teams with 107 or more. So, although it’s a game against a non-playoff team in the Ottawa Senators, it’s an important one. Of course, facing a weaker team in the Sens sets up nicely for them, especially given how their last meeting went. That was a smooth 7-2 victory for the Rangers, so we’re more than happy to take them again tonight with our NHL parlay picks.
