I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. After 10 games on the ice yesterday, including plenty of afternoon action due to it being MLK day, we have 8 more NHL matchups to enjoy tonight. Although there are no afternoon contests, we’re still here with our best NHL parlay picks for today. There’s a bit of a theme for our plays, as we’re going to take advantage of teams on the road and on the second leg of a back-to-back. Along with our NHL mega parlay, be sure to check out all of our NHL predictions for today’s action!

NHL Parlay Picks (1/16)

Rangers -1.5 (+120)

Stars 3-way ML (+100)

Jets -1.5 (+150)

NHL parlay odds: +993

New York Rangers -1.5 over Seattle Kraken (+120)

The first of our NHL parlay picks is an inter-conference clash between 2 of the hottest teams in the league. That’s been the case for the entire season for the New York Rangers, as they’ve been in control of the Metropolitan Division from the opening puck-drop. As for the Kraken, they entered yesterday afternoon’s game on a franchise-record 9-game winning streak. However, that was snapped by the Pittsburgh Penguins. Now, they face another Metro Division team that has been even stronger.

Given these teams are in different conferences and the short franchise history of the Kraken, they don’t meet often, but it’s still a series that has been controlled by New York. The Rangers have won 4 of the last 5 against Seattle, 3 of which were by multiple goals. That also includes their meeting back in October this season, which was a convincing 4-1 New York win. With that in mind, the first leg from our NHL parlay picks is the Rangers on the puck line.

Dallas Stars 3-way ML over Los Angeles Kings (+100)

Another team that was on the ice just yesterday afternoon was the Los Angeles Kings, who faced a stout defense in the Carolina Hurricanes. Now, they’re in Dallas taking on another team known for great resiliency in the Stars. With goaltender Jake Oettinger back between the pipes, that should continue tonight.

Dallas has been off since Saturday, when they recorded their 3rd win in the past 4 games.  In those wins, they allowed just 3 total goals, including a road shutout against the Minnesota Wild. Even if they allow a few goals tonight, that should not be an issue. When at home, the Stars are the 2nd-highest scoring team, averaging over 4 goals per game. They’ve also been crowned kings against LA as of late, winning 3 of their last 4 games against them. The most recent was a 4-0 victory, and the one prior was a 5-2 win. Therefore, we’ll gladly add the Stars to win in regulation to our NHL parlay picks.

Winnipeg Jets -1.5 over New York Islanders (+150)

The last team that we’re going to take advantage of in terms of fatigue is the New York Islanders. After being in Minnesota against the Wild last night, they head even more north to Winnipeg to face the red-hot Jets. They’ve been flying high, as their recent 8-game winning streak has catapulted them to the top of the Central Division alongside the Colorado Avalanche. Although their streak was recently snapped, like the Stars, they have been off since Saturday.

Winnipeg and New York are both defensive-minded teams, so expect a low-scoring game. However, the difference is that the Jets can still find the back of the net more consistently than the Islanders. It should only take a few goals as it is — just 1 of the last 5 games between these teams ended with more than 4 goals. Winnipeg goaltender Connor Hellebuyck is back on the ice, so that should hold true while the Jets come out on the right end of it to close out our NHL parlay picks.
