I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. There are only 3 NHL games on the board tonight, but there’s no shortage of great action. We have division rivalries across the board with 5 of the 6 teams focusing on the postseason. With such great matchups set to take place, it can be difficult to predict winners. If that’s the case for you, we have you covered. There are some strong defensive teams on the ice, but we’ve found a spot in the player prop market we love. You’ll likely recognize the name, but there is good reason we’re focused on this specific skater.

Along with our player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL predictions for today’s action. You can also read today’s NHL mega parlay, which includes all 3 Wednesday games.

William Nylander over 0.5 assists (-110)

We targeted William Nylander for this same prop in the Toronto Maple Leafs’ most recent game and he let us down. That’s been a rarity for him, though, so we’re willing to trust him again. Firstly, he and the Leafs recently took on the Florida Panthers, their opponent tonight, and Nylander thrived. That game was 6 days ago, and Nylander came away with a goal and an assist. With Florida’s goaltending struggles, we anticipate another strong performance. There’s a risk that he notches a goal himself, but he can certainly put up multiple points again.

The Panthers have allowed at least 4 goals in 4 straight games, including the 6 Toronto scored the other night. With Nylander having snipers Auston Matthews and John Tavares alongside him, he’s set up for success and he’s also on the first power-play unit. Not only has Florida committed the most penalties in the NHL this season, but the Panthers also have the 5th-worst penalty-kill unit. That’s a primary reason why the Panthers are fighting for their playoff lives tonight, while the Leafs have already clinched their spot. We fully expect Nylander and Toronto to prove why that’s the case on home ice tonight.
