Kirill Kaprizov over 0.5 goals (+110)

As expected, Kirill Kaprizov has carried the Wild yet again to playoff contention. Minnesota is clinging to the final wild-card spot in the standings and needs to collect every point they can down the stretch. They have 3 wins in their last 9 games which has dropped them out of the Central’s top 3. If the Wild are going to turn things around, they will need their top players to perform. Kaprizov leads the Wild in goals with 29, assists with 33 and points with 62 in 52 games played. Although the Wild are in a bit of a slump, he has continued to produce. In that 9-game span, Kaprizov has 4 goals and 6 assists. In a game where points continue to be valuable, Kaprizov should get plenty of ice time to maximize his offensive chances.

The door should be open for the Wild to generate offense on Monday night. The Panthers rank bottom 10 in the NHL in goal prevention and penalty kill. They allowed 5 goals in their last game on Saturday, which was the 5th time in their last 10 games that they allowed 4+ goals. The Panthers are playing good hockey, but their scoring has been a primary reason for their positive recent results. Kaprizov’s line has 129 points in 132 games this season. It is likely that they will be in the mix for production tonight and if that is the case, Kaprizov should continue to be a driver.

Dylan Cozens over 0.5 points (+100)

Dylan Cozens has been a key contributor for the Sabres all season. For all intents and purposes, Buffalo’s first line of Tage Thompson, Alex Tuch and Jeff Skinner have done the majority of the heavy lifting this season, but Cozens has led Buffalo’s depth as the second-line center. He has 17 goals and 27 assists for 44 points in 50 games played. Last week, Cozens was rewarded with a 7-year contract for $49.7 million. That commitment by the organization shows that they recognize how important of a player Cozens is. He is a top-6 forward and is also on the top power play with Buffalo’s top 4 scorers which are that juggernaut top line plus Rasmus Dahlin. Cozens gets valuable minutes and is put into positions to succeed.

Dylan Cozens plays with good players on the team that scores the 3rd-most goals per game and has the 5th-best power play. Each game now is valuable for the Sabres as they sit outside the playoff picture. They will continue to lean on their top players. Being the 2nd line and top power play center, Cozens definitely qualifies as a top player on the team. He will garner even more important minutes. The Kings have allowed 5 goals in 2 of their last 3 games, they rank 22nd in the NHL in goal prevention and their penalty kills ranks 27th in the league. Buffalo should emphasize their strength of goalscoring to win, and at +100, Cozens has a great chance to be involved.
