Jamie Benn over 0.5 goals (+220)

Jamie Benn is returning in Game 6 after serving a 2-game suspension for ugly cross checks to the head of Vegas captain Mark Stone. With his team’s season on the line, the Stars’ captain had his wires cross at an awful time and he put his team in an even worse spot in addition to potentially injuring a player. It was an embarrassing moment that Benn wants to redeem himself for. The Stars were able to tread water for 2 games without their captain. Getting their captain back in the lineup in an elimination game at home will add to their already building momentum as a team. Benn is in a good situation to produce will have plenty of extra jump in his step to be a contributor in a do or die game at home.

The chip on his shoulder is not solely reason enough to like Benn to score. But mixing his tangibles with that added redemption chip on his shoulder is a great combination for production. It’s not like this is some less relevant depth player. Jamie Benn is a reliable, certified top 2-line productive forward in the NHL for a decade now. He has a full season’s worth of postseason games under his belt and has led his team to deep playoff runs time and time again. This +220 is good value for a reliable player with the talent, pedigree, and incentive to notch a goal in a big game.

Ivan Barbashev over 0.5 points (+115)

Ivan Barbashev has done exactly what he was brought to the Golden Knights at the trade dealine to do. He is not a flashy superstar, but he does not try to be, nor does he need to be in order to be effective. In 16 games this postseason, he has 6 goals and 8 assists for nearly a point per game. Barbashev has made his presence knows in this series particularly with 2 goals and 3 assists for 5 points in 5 games this series. He is a prototypical NHL playoff player as he does a little bit of everything. Barbashev plays physical, responsible, and reliable 5 on 5 up and down the lineup, as well as on special teams. Head coach Bruce Cassidy has rewarded him as such with top end line mates and minutes.

It certainly does not hurt that Barbashev is on the top line with Jack Eichel and Jonathan Marchessault, as well as on the power play with Nicolas Roy, William Karlsson, Reilly Smith, and Alex Pietrangelo. That top line of Barbashev, Eichel, and Marchessault has 48 points in 48 combined games this postseason. These guys have a good chance to be part of any offense the Golden Knights are able to muster up on Monday night. Ivan Barbashev was a crucial part of a Stanley Cup winning team just 4 years ago and has only matured and refined his game since then. This plus money for him to tally a point is good value considering his line mates, minutes played, and most importantly, his strong play already this series.
