Best player prop for Sunday's MLB slate: Price is right

Dodgers pitcher David Price MLB player prop

Patience is a virtue and we will need it today. Through no fault of my own, I have to wait until 3:10 pm ET before I can watch my MLB player prop in action. It is what it is, people. It stinks to wait that long but you could make it work for you. Get your mind right by doing some yard work, hitting the gym or just play some video games and don’t even think about the fact that there are games being played that you didn’t bet on. That’s where things can go sideways. The Los Angeles Dodgers and Colorado Rockies are squaring off at 3:10 pm ET and when they do, we’ll forget all about the two action less hours we just experienced.

On top of this article, you should definitely check out our experts’ picks on all of the MLB action today As always, bets can always be added to the card on a Saturday, so why not follow me on Twitter in case we get some last-second action? It just makes sense.

David Price over 3.5 strikeouts (+125)

Line available at DraftKings at time of publishing

DraftKings is the only book of the Big 3 willing to throw a line out on this MLB player prop so hats off to them. BetMGM and FanDuel are both on the sidelines for this one but it might be a good idea for them. This 3.5 number at +125 is a pretty aggressive move by DraftKings and one that I’m in on for sure.

Price is obviously not the guy he once was but 3.5 is pretty low. He’s got a pretty low 21.5% strikeout rate but we only need him to get four guys today. Price started against the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 9 and only went three innings throwing 51 pitches. He only struck out three but he didn’t get the pitcher even once. Today he gets to face Rockies’ starter, Jon Gray, who strikes out all the time (18 in 29 at bats this season). Price may also get to throw 60-70+ pitches so we have upside here.

The Rockies are not exactly an offense I target, especially at Coors Field but again, we only need four strikeouts. They struck out 10 times last night so it’s not like this is crazy. Over their last 100 at bats, they’ve struck out 21 times so we can get home on this 3.5 number. Especially if Gray can stay in the game and get multiple at bats. He’s gone at least 6.0 innings in his last three starts so it’s certainly possible. This is a great MLB player prop from where I’m sitting.
