The penultimate week of the 2022 college football regular season is upon us. Teams are jockeying for spots in conference championship games and ultimately for berths in the College Football Playoff. Saturday could go a long way in determining the outcomes, especially with TCU traveling to Baylor, USC visiting UCLA and Utah going on the road to face Oregon.

For now, we are focusing on individual players, so let’s take a look at my favorite prop bets for this weekend. I have compiled a 2-1 record in each of the past 2 weeks, for an overall mark of 4-2 during this stretch. Meanwhile, be sure to check out all of our college football picks for this week’s biggest games.

Cameron Rising, QB, Utah, over 247.5 passing yards (-120)

Rise up! Utah has won 3 games in a row since its loss at UCLA, a run that includes beating USC 43-42. Rising threw for 415 yards in that game and he has exceeded this 247.5 quota in 4 of the last 8 contests. Most of the exceptions were blowout victories in which he did not have to throw it around a ton. That probably won’t be the story on Saturday, as #10 Utah has a showdown on its hands with #12 Oregon. The good news for Rising and the Utes is that the Ducks are downright hopeless when it comes to defending the pass. They are 5th-to-last nationally in passing defense, giving up a ridiculous 289.7 yards per contest. I like Rising over 1.5 touchdown passes at -140, as well.

Jonathan Mingo, WR, Ole Miss, over 60.5 receiving yards (-115)

Mingo has been over this number 5 times in 2022, including in 3 of the last 4 games. Twice he has just barely missed it, with 54 yards against Tulsa and 59 on 7 receptions during last Saturday’s loss to Alabama. Given that Ole Miss is facing Arkansas now, this number should be considerably higher. The Razorbacks are in the bottom 12 of the country in passing defense, allowing 280.5 passing yards per contest. Earlier this month they watched Liberty wide receiver Demario Douglas go for 145 yards. In addition to Mingo, fellow senior Malik Heath going over 50.5 yards also looks like a good play.

Braelon Allen, RB, Wisconsin, over 0.5 rushing touchdowns (-115)

Allen has a fantastic matchup on his hands with Wisconsin facing Nebraska on Saturday. The Cornhuskers are near the bottom of the nation in rushing defense, allowing 191.0 yards per game on 4.6 yards per attempt. They have also surrendered 10 touchdowns on the ground. Look for the ‘Huskers to be victimized early and often by Allen, who has 10 TDs in 10 games this season. He has scored in 6 of those 10, including 2 on 2 occasions and 3 on another. There is no reason to think a bad Nebraska squad will be 1 of the few to keep him out of the endzone.
