The NFL playoffs continue this weekend, but before that arrives, we have plenty of action today in the form of the NBA, NHL, and college basketball. There is more than enough to work with on the betting front when it comes to those three sports on Wednesday. An especially intriguing 13-game NBA slate includes the 76ers, Nets, Heat, Grizzlies, Jazz, Clippers, and Lakers.

Let’s take a look at where the public money has gone so far on Wednesday.

NBA: Los Angeles Lakers -5 over Indiana Pacers

One of bettors’ favorite plays on the NBA schedule is on the Lakers to cover a -5 spread at home against the Pacers. Los Angeles is bringing in 89 percent of the handle and 77 percent of the bets. And why not? LeBron James and company have been playing well at home and the Pacers are in disastrous form right now. This is one of our best bets of the day, and our NBA expert handicapper loves the over in this matchup, as well.

NHL: Colorado Avalanche -1.5 over Anaheim Ducks

The Avalanche are pretty much always one of bettors’ favorite NHL plays, and Wednesday is no exception. Colorado on the -1.5 puck line in its road date with Anaheim is being supported by 87 percent of the money and 86 percent of the wagers. The public is also happy to incur the -245 juice and bet on the Avs to win straight up. They are drawing 75 percent of the handle and 87 percent of the money line bets.

NCAAB: Xavier Musketeers -7.5 over DePaul Blue Demons

On the collegiate hardwood, punters are putting their faith in Xavier. The Musketeers are making a trip to DePaul, and they are inspiring 63 percent of the handle and 70 percent of the wagers on the -7.5 spread. The public is even more willing to go with the safer play of Xavier on the -305 money line. A total of 95 percent of the handle and 90 percent of the bets are going in the visitors’ direction.

NFL: Los Angeles Rams vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers Over 48.5

It’s never too early to start focusing on the divisional round of the NFL playoffs, so that’s what we will do now. Clearly bettors have already done it. At the time being, the public is throwing 72 percent of the money and 76 percent of the wagers on the Over 48.5 for Sunday’s Rams vs Buccaneers showdown. The public is far more conflicted on the side, as almost exactly 50 percent of both the money and the bets are on each team against the spread (Tampa Bay is a -3 favorite).
