Even with the 2021 MLB campaign over, Thursday is always a big day in the world of sports during NFL season. It always kicks off the weekly festivities on the professional gridiron, while college football also shares some of the spotlight. Tonight we have NBA and NHL action, as well.

Let’s take a look at where the public money has gone so far on Thursday.

NFL: New York Jets vs. Indianapolis Colts Over 45.5

Thursday Night Football pits the Jets against the Colts. Bettors are leaning toward New York to cover a bloated +10 spread (the visitors are inspiring 56 percent of the handle and 63 percent of the wagers), but the over/under is a slightly more popular play. A total of 63 percent of the money and 62 percent of the bets are taking the Over on a 45.5 number.

We are on the Over, as well. Indianapolis has scored at least 30 points in each of its past three games and Carson Wentz seems to have finally built some chemistry with his offense. Meanwhile, Mike White is coming off a surprisingly great performance under center for the Jets.

The Patriots are drawing 90 percent of the money and 87 percent of the bets as the public hopes the margin is at least 4 points this weekend. When it comes to the money line, New England at -180 is getting 80 percent of both the handle and the bets.

NCAAF: Baylor -7 over TCU

With the college football weekend approaching, bettors’ favorite play is on Baylor to cover a touchdown spread against TCU. The Bears ATS are getting 93 percent of the handle and 97 percent of the wagers. They are also being hammered on the -250 money line; the public is throwing 95 percent of the handle and 91 percent of the bets toward an outright win for Baylor.

NBA: Phoenix Suns -10.5 over Houston Rockets

The Suns have major issues off the court at the moment, but punters aren’t losing faith in the defending Western Conference champions’ ability to perform on the court. Phoenix is getting 70 percent of both the money and the wagers on the -10.5 line. Bettors also have no issue with -550 juice on the money line. They are backing the Suns to the tune of 95 percent of the handle and 92 percent of the wagers for a straight up victory.

NHL: Calgary Flames ML over Dallas Stars

One of punters’ favorite plays of the day in the NHL is on Calgary to win straight up against Dallas. On the -145 money line, the Flames are inspiring 96 percent of the handle and 80 percent of the bets. They are also bringing in 92 percent of the money on the -1.5 puck line, but interestingly enough the Stars (+1.5) are drawing 68 percent of the puck line bets. Clearly the higher-stakes plays are being made on Calgary.
