On the men’s singles side at the French Open, 1 player – Jannik Sinner – is favored (and by a lot!) over the entire rest of the field. It is a much different story in the women’s tournament, with no clear favorite and a whole host of realistic title contenders. Among them are Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, Mirra Andreeva and Coco Gauff – all with no worse than +900 odds to lift the trophy.
Will someone in that group triumph at Roland Garros in 2 weeks’ time, or is an upset in the cards? Let’s take a look at the outright odds and discuss some of the best bets to make.

French Open tennis 3-star best bet: Coco Gauff (+900)
With Swiatek not showcasing her peak level so far in 2026 and both Sabalenka and Rybakina not at their best on clay, the door to the women’s trophy is open well beyond just the top 3 favorites. Don’t be surprised if Gauff capitalizes on the opportunity, just as she did last spring – beating Sabalenka in the final for her first French Open title. The American’s serve remains an issue at times, but she can break opponents’ serves so often on clay that she is able to compensate for her own service donations. Gauff is coming off a semifinal performance in Rome, so confidence is relatively high at the moment.
French Open tennis 2-star best bet: Karolina Muchova (+4000)
With no one in dominant form in the women’s field, the value on longshots is obvious. That is certainly the case with Muchova, who is a very intriguing play at +4000 odds. The 29-year-old Czech has never won a Grand Slam, but she came within a set of triumphing at Roland Garros in 2023 before ultimately finishing runner-up to Swiatek. Success on the big stage is nothing out of the ordinary for Muchova, who is a 7-time major quarterfinalist – including 3 semifinal finishes in addition to her 2023 French Open final appearance.
French Open tennis 1-star best bet: Marta Kostyuk (+2800)
Another relative longshot worth a look is Kostyuk, who captured a 1000-point title in Madrid earlier this month. For those wondering, that’s the second most prestigious level of tournament behind only a Grand Slam. If you can win a 1000, you can win a slam – the player fields are pretty much the same. Obviously the mental challenge of triumphing at a major is a little bit different, but there is no reason why Kostyuk can’t do it. The 23-year-old Ukrainian was an Australian Open quarterfinalist in 2024 and reached the French Open fourth round as a teenager back in 2021. She is now playing the best tennis of her career, sporting a perfect 12-0 clay-court record so far this spring.
