We are already into the business end of the French Open, as the entire semifinal lineup will be set by the end of Wednesday’s play. Rounding out quarterfinal action on the women’s side is Ons Jabeur, Coco Gauff and world #1 Iga Swiatek. In the men’s draw, an intriguing rematch between Casper Ruud and Holger Rune takes center stage.

Let’s take a look at the best bets to be made for Day 11 at Roland Garros.

Ons Jabeur -1.5 sets over Beatriz Haddad Maia (-110)

This is the best bet of the day, without a doubt. Jabeur has won both of her previous encounters with Haddad Maia and is 4-0 in total sets. They squared off on the clay courts of Stuttgart last month and Jabeur dominated 6-3, 6-0. That was when the Tunisian was just coming back from injury, too. Now she is 100 percent physically and also playing in more favorable conditions (Roland Garros is slower than Stuttgart, where faster conditions seemingly should have given Haddad Maia a chance). As if all of that isn’t enough, the left-hander from Brazilian is coming off 2 extremely taxing 3-setters – including an outrageous 3-hour and 51-minute battle with Sara Sorribes Tormo on Monday.

Alexander Zverev vs Tomas Martin Etcheverry Over 36.5 games (-110)

Can Etcheverry be competitive? That’s all he has to be in order to take the total over a relatively small 36.5 number. And I think he will. In fact, in my opnion the underdog from Argentina has a decent chance of winning this match outright. Etcheverry has been outstanding in 2023, especially on clay. He finished runner-up in both Santiago and Houston and has not lost a single set so far during the French Open. He is the only man in the entire tournament who hasn’t lost a set –not Carlos Alcaraz; not Novak Djokovic; Tomas Martin Etcheverry. The 23-year-old will likely lose a couple now that the competition level increases in the form of Zverev, but he should also win at least a couple. This should be a long one.

Casper Ruud ML over Holger Rune (-130)

Ruud leads the head-to-head series 4-1, which includes a 4-set win at Roland Garros last spring – also in the quarterfinals. Even in Ruud’s 1 loss to Rune (at the Rome event last month), the Norwegian led by a set and a break before failing to slam the door. That was obviously a best-of-3 contest; now they are back in a best-of-5 situation. A more physical contest favors Ruud, who has reached the final at 2 of the last 4 majors (Roland Garros and the U.S. Open in 2022). Moreover, Rune is coming off a rough 5-setter against Francisco Cerundolo on Monday. I’m counting on Ruud to once again wear down the 20-year-old.
