EPL pick today: Aston Villa ML over Leeds United (+100), 3:00 pm ET

Since the resumption of the domestic season the Villans have played positively in a 3-1 loss to Liverpool before an impressive 2-0 win at Tottenham and a 1-1 tie with resurgent Wolves in their last league game. A similar level of performance should trouble Leeds, which narrowly avoided relegation last term and looks set for a tense second half of the 2022-23 campaign. Jesse Marsch’s team should be faded on the road, having lost 5 of 8 away games this season. Newcastle had 16 attempts at goal in a 0-0 tie with Leeds on December 31 and Villa should create plenty of chances against a vulnerable Leeds defense which allowed 2 goals in an FA Cup tie at second-tier club Cardiff on Sunday.

College Basketball pick today: Butler Bulldogs ML over Villanova Wildcats (-105), 7:00 pm ET

Life after Jay Wright is quite different than it was with him for the Villanova Wildcats. In their first season without Wright since 2001, the Wildcats are 8-9 overall and 2-4 in the Big East.

Butler should be able to take advantage of Villanova’s perimeter deficiencies. The Bulldogs do not shoot a ton of threes, but they have made 34.2% of their total perimeter attempts this season. They have not shot it well in conference play, but I suspect being at home against a poor perimeter defense will be just what the doctor ordered offensively. This is a good spot for Butler against a team who has won just 3 of 10 games away from home, so I’ll take the Bulldogs.

NBA pick today: Atlanta Hawks vs Indiana Pacers – Over 238.5 points (-110), 7:10 pm ET

The floodgates opened in the teams’ first meeting of the season as they combined to score 243 points. The scoring has remained consistent over the past 10 meetings, with 9 of the 10 games cashing on the over, while an average of 240.7 points per game have been scored.

Atlanta averages 101.4 possessions per game on the road this season, ranking 8th in pace of play. They also have the 7th-best offensive rating in those games, while on defense they’re allowing 112.7 points per 100 possessions, which is only 22nd in the league. I can’t see a lot of defense being played, so backing the over will be the play.

NHL pick today: New Jersey Devils 3-Way ML over Anaheim Ducks (-195), 10:00 pm ET

The Devils have proven that their early-season dominance was no fluke, as they just took down the New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes in their most recent games. That brought them back within 2 points of Carolina for the top spot in the Metro Division. The Devils are the 7th-highest scoring team in the NHL, while Anaheim remains the only team to allow more than 4 goals per game. With the Ducks also allowing the most shots per game by a wide margin, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Jack Hughes have another 10-shot game. Multiple New Jersey skaters should fill up the box score en route to a convincing win in regulation tonight.
