MLB pick today: Minnesota Twins vs Cleveland Guardians – Under 8.5 runs (-108), 7:10 pm ET

In favor of the under are 2 different factors. First, the Cleveland bullpen is one of the best in baseball; second, the Guardians’ offense has been one of the worst in baseball. They frequently post 3 runs or less, and they try to win with pitching, defense and savvy baserunning. Because of that, backing the under will be our play.

NBA pick today: Philadelphia 76ers +2.5 over Boston Celtics (-112), 7:30 pm ET

For the 76ers to be considered an underdog in this spot in a pivotal Game 3 at home is kind of surprising. Philadelphia has not lost a home game yet in the playoffs, albeit the 2 games played at the Wells Fargo Center were against the Brooklyn Nets — but this is a squad that feeds off the crowd’s energy.

Look for Joel Embiid to be more assertive and healthier in this one after making a surprising return from injury in Game 2. The 76ers are capable of getting the victory outright if they play much better than their Game 2 performance, but backing them on the spread will be our safer bet.

NBA pick today: Phoenix Suns -4 over Denver Nuggets (-112), 10:00 pm ET

No team has ever come back from 3-0 down in the postseason, so if Phoenix really wants to make this a series it will have to win tonight’s game. The absence of Paul really hurts them, but the poor play of Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. along with the no-show of the Denver bench makes backing the Suns worth a play to win and cover at home.

MLB pick today: Houston Astros vs Seattle Mariners – Under 7 runs (-120), 10:10 pm ET

For the series opener tonight in Seattle, Cristian Javier will toe the rubber for the Astros against Luis Castillo for the Mariners. Besides having a pair of aces on the mound, we also have 2 slumping lineups. Houston and Seattle finished 19th and 25th in OPS in the first month of the season, and more recently these teams rank 25th in 30th in batting average, 26th and 29th in OBP and 23rd and 28th in OPS in the last 14 days. Pair that with the 2 bullpens that rank 1st and 2nd in ERA in that time, backing the under looks to be the best play.
