KBO picks and predictions

Friday’s slate features plenty of opportunities for value. Let’s dive into the day’s best bets.

LG Twins ML (-140) over Doosan Bears

The LG Twins ended their series with the Samsung Lions by winning 11-9 on Thursday morning. The Twins are now 48-30-1 on the season. They have won 4 games in a row and are still in 3rd place in the league standings. On Friday the Twins will start Adam Plutko, who is 7-4 this year and has an ERA of 3.12. In 16 starts he has allowed 33 earned runs over 95.1 innings.

The Doosan Bears beat the Kiwoom Heroes 4-2 on Thursday. The Bears are now 34-42-2. They have won 2 games in a row and are in a tie for 6th place in the league standings. They will counter with Choi Won-Joon, who is 4-6 and has an ERA of 3.27. In 15 starts he has allowed 30 earned runs over 82.2 innings.

Both starters are having solid seasons, but the form from Plutko has been better as of recently. For that reason, backing the Twins to win will be the play.

NC Dinos ML (-146) over Kiwoom Heroes

The NC Dinos managed to blow a 10-1 lead to the Hanwha Eagles on Thursday and ended up losing 12-11. The Dinos are now 31-44-2 in 2022 and are still in 9th place in the league standings. They will start Drew Rucinski, who is 6-5 and has an ERA of 2.30. In 16 starts he has allowed 27 earned runs over 105.2 innings.

The Kiwoom Heroes lost to the Doosan Bears 4-2 on Thursday morning. They are now 51-30-1, have lost 2 games in a row and are still sitting in 2nd place in the league standings. The Heroes will counter with Han Hyun-Hee, who is 3-2 and has an ERA of 4.78. In 11 appearances (6 starts), he has allowed 20 earned runs over 37.2 innings.

The Heroes were the hottest team in the KBO earlier this week but now have lost 2 games in a row and Friday does not look to be a good matchup either. Especially with Rucinski on the mound, the Dinos look to be the best play for this game.

SSG Landers vs Samsung Lions – Under 8.5 runs (-128)

The total looks to be the better play for this game because even though Heo Yun-Dong is coming off a horrid start, he had been solid before that. In 4 of his last 5 start, he has allowed 3 earned runs or less with 3 of those starts resulting in 2 earned runs or less.

On the other side, Kim Kwang-Hyun has allowed 4 or more runs in just 2 starts. In his last 5 starts he has allowed a total of 8 runs (4 earned) over 27.2 innings. In 1 start against the Lions he did not allow a run over 7.0 innings. Because both starters have had some solid starts recently, backing the under will be the play.

Extra KBO picks and predictions for Friday, July 8

Lotte Giants ML (+116) over KT Wiz

The KT Wiz will start one of their best pitcher on Friday, that being Charlie Barnes. He has an ERA of 2.80 and will face Wes Benjamin from the KT Wiz, who has an ERA of 4.15. For that reason, backing the Giants looks to be worth a play.

Kia Tigers ML (-205) over Hanwha Eagles

Neither starter in this match looks good, but the Kia Tigers still have the advantage with Lee Eui-Lee on the mound. He has an ERA of 4.21, while the Hanwha Eagles will start Kim Min-Woo, who has an ERA of 5.19. For that reason, backing the Tigers will be the play.
